Ski Island Candidates for Board Members 2010
Austin Bollenbach - 10219 Ski Dr.
I was born in Kingfisher, OK June of 1978 and raised on an acreage just outside of town. I have been working with my father raising purebred cattle since I can remember and still maintain a small herd. I went to college at Oklahoma State University and graduated May 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems and General Business. Moved to Oklahoma City after graduation where I have lived a number of places and have held a number of positions in the financial imaging software business.
December of 2007 I bought 10209 Ski Drive from Mickie Browning and Gary and Carol Clark. I married the love of my life, Stephanie, May 30 of this year and we just started our family with the addition of our 12 week old German Shepherd, Sasha. Stephanie also grew up on an acreage east of OKC and we both feel like Ski Island is the next best thing to living in the country. We plan to wait 2 or 3 years before having kids so my primary motivation for serving on The Board is to help keep Ski Island safe and a wonderful place to live.
Glenn Boyer - 10601 Eastlake Cir.
Glenn R. Boyer, 10601 Eastlake Circle, Ski Island resident since 1973. The spillway was not yet built and the lake was very low during construction. Married 56 years June 2010, to Mary my best friend and sports partner. My children, Glenn Jr. and Candi Lynn both grew up on the lake. Glenn Jr. was always fishing and Candi was looking for dad or Art to water ski. They never agreed on ski hours. They did agree however with Mary and I that Ski Island is a dream home. I have been a 50 year Mason, a 41 year All Sports Association member, including President for three terms and a 50 year Veteran. Amazing what being old does! I have not served on the Ski Island board since 1981. Having attended numerous board meetings this year, I have observed that new residents elected to the board have great careers and great ideas. Most were told “That’s not the way we’ve always done it.” We need new ideas. Reviving the Beautification Committee which had a small budget and raised additional money with grants would still work. I will never vote for any assessment for the Home Owners unless it is for improvements to the dam or spillway. Our major asset is Ski Island Lake. We need to know when that asset is in jeopardy. Home owners are entitled to the facts the same as board members.
Frank Herriman - 10417 Eastlake Dr.
I have enjoyed getting to know many of the residents through working on various projects throughout Ski Island Lake Club over the last 5 years. I have been proud to represent the Ski Island Lake Club residents as an elected board member for the last three years and am excited at the direction and progress our neighborhood is making. I am both honored and excited to make decisions that benefit our community. I am always willing to listen to all parties and feel I am a common sense voice in deciding any and all question that may come before the board.
My wife, Chris, of 15 years, and I love lake life and truly enjoy any boating activities and love the back yard living atmosphere that Ski Island has to offer. We have two grown sons, Riley of Oklahoma City and Lucas of Houston, Texas, and daughter Casey is currently a student at OU. I am employed by UPS driving semi-trucks to various locations with over 35 years of service. I have well over 3 million over the road miles and still counting.
We love lake life and truly enjoy any boating activities and love the back yard living atmosphere that Ski Island has to offer. I will be proud and excited to serve YOU for the next 3 years and to continue to protect and enhance our unique way of life that we enjoy here.
